I didn’t get the hype of those who hit Michael’s in search of the lastest planning inserts, stickers and punches.
Fast forward what seems like a lifetime and planners have become the glitter glue holding my life together.

Why Use A Digital, Flexible Planner?
As a working mom, we have what you would call a non-traditional homeschool schedule.
We use “days” instead of days. Wait, I think I just lost you.
Let me explain. We don’t have a daily schedule in that every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday we homeschool.
Instead, we do 4 “days” of homeschooling. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4.

You can set it up for each child; which is perfect if your children have unique schedules. For example, your older child may need 5 days a week and your little one 2 days a week.

When I am looking for a new program, curriculum, or planner, I always look for a way to test it out before buying.
Being a working mom who is homeschooling means most “homeschool” items can’t handle my crazy, demanding life.
This is why testing first is so important to me.

Instructions To Get Started:
1. Visit Flexible Homeschool App
2. Click on the “Start Your 30 Day Trial for $1” button shown above
3. Fill out your information and where it says “coupon” enter the code: practical

Starting with their Foundational Concept: Flexible Timeframe which covers the benefits of how the app is organized. The second tutorial, Interface, walks you through the basics of the interface.

How To Add Customized Resources
Please note: Getting set up is the LONG part. Not difficult and once you get on a roll it speeds by but be sure to block off time to settle in and get it done.
As a working mom, my kids use a ton of online resources plus a healthy mix of offline.
Flexible Homeschool App’s Resource Manager is amazing.
Select what type of Resource you want to add:
- New Book
- New Link
- New Video
- New Audio
- New App
Fill out the form. Using the “availability” field allows you to see if you own it, need to borrow it, or need to buy it.
You only need to add a resource once to the manager for it to be available for each child.
To do this:
- Click on your student’s name
- Choose “Add New School Work” and fill out step one
- Choose “Next”
- In step 2 add from your library of resources OR add a new one
- Choose “Next”
- In the 3rd step, you can adjust segments for each child
Does your child need extra segments? You can adjust as needed. You might find that after a month, your child is flying through math but needs more reading practice.
No worries, just hit “edit” and adjust as needed. Easy peasy!
Once you input your schedule once you are good to go.
If something comes up and you miss a day, no big deal! Simply pick right up where you left off without rearranging the rest of your year.
