Family Time Management Apps

Are you looking for family time management apps to help with time management for busy moms? Keeping everyone’s schedule straight can feel impossible when you work and homeschool.

Between work, school, extracurricular activities, and appointments, it can be a daunting task to keep everyone organized. Thankfully, family time management apps can provide a convenient solution to help you stay on top of your schedule.

In this digital age, there are a ton of apps available that can help you manage your family’s time efficiently. From coordinating appointments and events to assigning tasks and creating grocery lists, these apps can streamline your family’s busy life.

While a family command center is a great way to stay organized at home, the downside of using a family calendar is that it is usually only available at home.

The best part is that family time management apps are accessible on-the-go. No more worrying about missing an important appointment or activity because you left the calendar at home. With these apps, you can quickly adjust your schedule and make changes as needed, all from your mobile device.

If your family is like mine, you are often on the go. Family time management apps can help you stay organized and adjust your schedule on the run.

In this article, I’ll explore some of the top family time management apps on the market. Whether you have a large family or a small one, there is an app out there that can help you stay connected and organized. So, let’s dive in and find the perfect family time management app for you.

Why Use Family Time Management Apps?

In our home, we have two working teens and homeschooling activities to keep track of on top of our own work schedule, errands, and appointments.

One of my children had medical appointments, some in the city, some locally, and some an hour away.

When you have one car and three drivers, it can be hard to remember who needs the car.

As my kids got older, they started handling more responsibilities around the house, such as chores and cooking.

There is no way I could keep track of all of this in my brain. I’m human, and I forget things.

By using family time management apps, you (and I) can help reduce the mental load and free up some brain power for more important things, like actually attending that office meeting.

Features You Want In Family Time Management Apps

I look for three main features when it comes to family time management apps.

  1. Compatibility with all devices your family uses. Are some members Team Apple and others Team Android? Make sure the app will work on everyone’s devices.
  2. An interactive calendar. With an interactive calendar, you can manage your schedule easily and customize what’s included and how it displays.
  3. Shareability: having a family time management app is only beneficial if you can share it with your family members.

Make sure the family time management apps you choose have a sharing feature that is simple and easy to use.

5 Family Time Management Apps

One of the best family time management tips is to make sure everyone is on the same page. Here are five family time management apps that are highly recommended by working homeschool moms.

1. Google Calendar

Google Calendar is one of the more popular family time management apps.

While this app allows you to schedule and track appointments, events, and deadlines, my favorite way to use Google Calander is to create different calendars for different uses, such as a family calendar.

When you create a family group in Google, a family calendar is automatically created and shared with all members of your “family.”

Google Calendar is available in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

2. Calendar

Calendar is an online team scheduler and app. However, it has some features that make it perfect for a working mom to use while keeping track of family events and schedules.

One feature is that you can schedule a “meeting” with your family members at the most convenient in everyone’s schedule.

And if your child has gone away to college, you can still arrange meetings at a time that is best for everyone, regardless of timezone differences.

Available in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

3. OurHome

One of the best family time management apps for making scheduling fun!

Ourhome can be used to create and track tasks and events and even share grocery lists. You can create lists, assign tasks to your kids and reward responsibility.

This app is free and available in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

4. Fantastical

I first heard of Fantastical from a member of my business mastermind. She prefers it over Google Calendar because it is easy to use and syncs across all of her devices.

If you are a Team Apple Family, this is one of the best family time management apps for scheduling your family, allowing you to create tasks, events, add photos, and more!

5. FamilyWall

FamilyWall is like a digital version of your family wall calendar or command center.

You can have lists, a calendar, grocery lists, meal plans, messages, locations, and more all inside one app.

This family time management app is available in both the Apple and Google Play stores and guarantees security and privacy for all the information you share within the app.

How to Effectively Use Family Time Management Apps

Family time management apps only work if you use them.

Once you’ve picked which time management app will work best for your family, start by having each family member download the app to their device.

Then take some time learning about the features together and discussing the best way to use them. You’ll be surprised how quickly your kids learn how to use technology.

Make sure to show your children how to access each feature you will be using and how to share updates. If the family time management app includes tasks or chores, show them how to mark off each item.

When you sit down to do your weekly planning, update the family time management app to include anything you have written in your paper planner.
